Feeding Raw

UPDATE: Feeding Raw is a wonderful thing BUT We have a Desert climate. We found that the kittens (THE WOLFERS) that bolted down their raw as soon as we served it did great.  The kittens that were GRAZERS and nibbled thru out the day were getting sick with Diarrhea from spoilage. We were extremely fortunate that none of them came down with Salmonella or E Coli as well. So for this reason we decided to error on the side of having healthy kittens and cats that eat canned.

WE FED RAW AND DRY. We had a commercial Grinder and every 2 weeks we ground 50lbs of Raw Chicken, Chicken Livers, Chicken Gizzards and Chicken Hearts. We package them in gallon freezer bags and freeze them in 6 1/4 lb portions.  Right before we feed we portion out the proper amount of meat, we add in Nuvet Plus to make sure they are getting the right amount of Vitamins and minerals along with the proper amount of Taurine.  Taurine is a necessary enzyme that cats need that they can not produce on their own. This is essential for good heart and eye health. We then add in a Probiotic. **You can buy Raw already prepped and ready to eat or make your own very easily and cheaply by buying boneless Chicken a tray of Chicken Hearts and Gizzards and a container of Chicken Livers throw it all in a food processor and add in a little Bone Meal for added Calcium.
